Linda Thomas Uses Technology to Connect Residents to What Matters Most

Resident Art Rubinstein couldn’t travel to Jerusalem for his granddaughter’s wedding. So, last year Linda Thomas used Facebook Live to bring the wedding to Art, his family and the other residents of Benchmark Senior Living at Ridgefield Crossings. The entire community shared in Art’s joy.

Linda’s use of media for the wedding celebration and so many events at her community won her the “Media Award” from the Connecticut Assisted Living Association (CALA).

Linda has dramatically increased family participation in Ridgefield Crossing’s Facebook page. Her photos and videos on Facebook give family members the comfort and delight of seeing their loved ones lead rich and active lives.

“Linda believes that residents should never feel lonely, so she connects residents to family members in many ways, including Skype conversations,” says Executive Director William Crawford. “Seeing faces and staying connected is as important as any of our resident services. And Linda was made for this role.”
