BENCHMARK CORPORATE VALUES

Our commitment to seniors and associates.

Benchmark supports seniors’ health, quality of life and independence, as well as creates a rewarding workplace that embraces and empowers our associates. We do this while carrying out the highest level of corporate integrity and responsibility. This is possible through constant self-evaluation of our practices and policies as well as learning what is important to our residents, their families, and our associates through frequent surveys.

CAUSES WE ARE PASSIONATE ABOUT

Supporting causes that impact our residents and associates is just one way we carry out our vision.

We are passionate about helping a host of local and national nonprofits whose missions range from curing Alzheimer’s disease to promoting the benefits of compassionate healthcare. In 2020 and 2019, Boston Business Journal awarded us as one of the largest contributors in Massachusetts. Some of the organizations that we support include:
Alzheimer’s Association
American Heart Association
Argentum
FriendshipWorks
Schwartz Center for Compassionate Healthcare

COMMITMENT TO EXCELLENCE

Open communication with resident, families, and associates continues to build trust.

For example, our transparency was applauded by our communities and public officials throughout COVID-19. Hundreds of letters to residents and associates, as well as Town Hall-style meetings, were just several initiatives we employed to keep everyone informed. This and our commitment to mitigating the virus build significant confidence and trust throughout our communities.

Our Results

In a survey, 87% of residents and families have said their impression of Benchmark
has improved or stayed the same during COVID-19.

OUR COMMITMENT TO INCLUSION

Benchmark Senior Living is committed to fostering an environment where our associates feel safe, respected and heard.

Colleagues from throughout our organization work collaboratively to embed diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging (DEIB) across our processes, practices and policies. At the heart of this work is the Inclusion Advisory Council, a group of associates who are committed to ensuring everyone in our organization feels welcomed and valued, as well as given the opportunity to flourish personally and professionally. Their efforts include working closely with our DEIB consulting firm, helping Benchmark identify and prioritize its approaches, and creating a framework for this work for the long-term. Together, we are devoted to nurturing a community where everyone feels they belong.

SUPPORTING THOSE WHO CARE

The Benchmark One Company Fund has helped associates facing personal financial hardship since 2007.

Whether it’s a house fire, death, illness, accident or natural disaster, the One Company Fund provides grants to associates and their families when, often, they have nowhere else to turn. It is one way we support the people who make a difference in the lives or our residents and families each day.
