Sarah’s passion for caring for seniors touches the lives of residents and families.

Families and residents often ask for her. They express their appreciation for her in email and letters. She is Sarah Dawson, the 2017 Service Champion at Greystone Farm at Salem, Salem, N.H. Serving as both a Resident Care Assistant and a Medication Nursing Assistant, Sarah radiates warmth and kindness to residents and their families.

Sarah cares deeply about her Greystone family. When one of her residents was hospitalized last year, Sarah visited him every day after her shift and on her days off. She brought him things he enjoyed, including magazines, chocolates and, most of all, companionship. Even after the resident passed away, Sarah continued visiting the family at their home, keeping strong the “ties that bind” the Greystone Farm community.

“We are so proud to have Sarah as part of our Greystone family,” says Resident Care Director Marie Sullivan. “Her devotion to our residents and their families is an inspiration to us all and a model of how to Elevate Human Connection.”

Every Benchmark community recognizes a monthly Service Champion, an associate who exemplifies our values. At the end of the year, each community names one of their 12 Service Champions as “Service Champion of the Year.” Sarah Dawson is the 2017 Service Champion chosen by Greystone Farm at Salem.
