Charlyse embodies the compassionate connections found at Benchmark Senior Living communities. As a leader in Mind & Memory Care, her love for her work is visible in everything she does. That passion didn’t begin at Benchmark—it began at home, through a close relationship with her grandmother, who lived with dementia. Witnessing her grandmother’s journey first hand shaped Charlyse’s deep understanding of the emotional layers of care. Today, her personal experience continues to guide her every interaction, infusing her leadership with empathy, patience, and heart.
Charlyse brings that same tenderness into her daily work, empowering associates and residents alike. She’s known for discovering creative ways to make every resident feel seen and understood, whether through personalized interactions or innovative programs that give residents a renewed sense of purpose.

Charlyse is instrumental in her community’s gardening program, where residents can take pride in growing their own flowers and vegetables, instilling a sense of purpose and community.

I really enjoyed going into Memory Care and ensuring that each of our residents got that specific attention.
Charlyse cherishes many meaningful moments throughout the day with her residents, big or small. She finds joy in connecting through Benchmark’s music therapy program, which helps to exercise the brain, elevate mood, or simply reminisce.
In 2024, that dedication was honored with the Connecticut Assisted Living Award for Best Practices for Resident Care— a recognition that reflects the heart he brings to every resident, every day.
