Demand for Assisted Living in Woodbury Breaking Records

Orchard Estate of Woodbury Nearly Fifty Percent Full
Leading up to Late Summer Opening

Orchard Estate of Woodbury

Demand for senior living is rising as baby boomers, the largest generation in American history, begin to reach retirement age and no truer is this on Long Island where there is an increasingly aging population. Orchard Estate of Woodbury, a Benchmark assisted living and memory care community and the first in Woodbury, N.Y., is seeing this demand first-hand. Orchard Estate is expected to open late summer and is already nearly 50% full with just one two-bedroom unit remaining.

Set on 3.8 prime acres at 900 Woodbury Road near the intersection of Route 135 and the Long Island Expressway, the community will offer 89 assisted living and memory care apartments in a rental model for up to 102 residents as well as spacious common areas.

“The response we have received thus far has exceeded our expectations and is one of the highest we’ve seen company-wide,” says Doug Cormack, executive director of Orchard Estate. “Everyone from individuals who are more independent and just want to be able to age in place and enjoy the amenities we offer, to couples with varying care needs, these are the kind of people who will be proud to call our community home. But they all share the common goal of wanting to remain in the area they love and stay connected to who and what matters most to them.”

With a mission of elevating human connection and an experienced team that’s passionate about keeping its residents connected to what’s meaningful and possible at every stage of their lives, the environmentally friendly community will feature a modern, contemporary design and amenities such as a bistro, wellness center, family room with full kitchen and dining room, second floor balcony and landscaped walking paths. Orchard Estate will have an enhanced assisted living license enabling it to provide a wide range of care that’s tailored to each individual; licensure is pending.

Benchmark’s first community in New York, Whisper Woods of Smithtown in Smithtown, N.Y., and also on Long Island, experienced a similarly positive response when they opened last July.
