Benchmark at Mount Pleasant Announces Opening of Thornwood Welcome Center

Benchmark at Mount Pleasant, an assisted living and Mind & Memory Care community opening this fall in Westchester County just five minutes from the Connecticut border, today announced the opening of its Welcome Center. Located at 617 Columbus Avenue in the Columbus Plaza down the street from the community’s eventual location, Benchmark at Mount Pleasant’s Welcome Center introduces seniors and their families to the award-winning Benchmark Experience built over the past 27 years throughout the Northeast and locally in Fairfield County.

“Not only will visitors get to see and experience what the community will be when it opens, but they will have the opportunity to feel our vibrant company culture and values, which is what really sets us apart,” said Sara Humphreys, executive director of Benchmark at Mount Pleasant who was drawn to work for Benchmark after seeing the tremendous impact it had on her own grandmother who lived at one of Benchmark at Mount Pleasant’s sister communities in Stamford, Edgehill. “The positive responses and interest we’ve already received has been fantastic and we are thrilled to be taking this additional step towards our grand opening this fall.”

The Welcome Center offers would-be residents and their loved ones a glimpse of the easy, maintenance-free lifestyle made possible by the award-winning amenities, personalized care, engaging programs and 100 well-appointed apartments in a variety of sizes and floor plans that will be found at Benchmark at Mount Pleasant. Visitors will get to know the community’s many standout features, including a dining program offering chef-prepared, seasonal meals and culinary experiences like cooking demonstrations and classes provided indoors and out in the dining room, café or on the patio.
