Benchmark Named to Best Workplaces in Aging Services List by FORTUNE Magazine, Recertified as a Great Place to Work®
Workplace Fairness, Inclusive Culture & Associate Trust Recognized for Sixth Consecutive Year
Benchmark, the largest senior housing provider in New England, today announced that Great Place to Work and FORTUNE Magazine have, once again, recognized Benchmark as one of the Best Workplaces in Aging Services™. The highly competitive 2023 list ranked Benchmark 11th nationally on the 25 Best Large Workplaces in Aging Services: Senior Housing and Care list, its highest ranking ever. The company was also re-certified as a Great Place To Work for the sixth straight year.
Since it was first introduced, Benchmark has steadily risen on the list. In 2022 it ranked #17 and in 2021 it ranked #24.
“From our Inclusion Advisory Council to our One Company Fund for associates facing unforeseen financial challenges, Benchmark is committed to creating a culture that is welcoming, supportive and rewarding,” said Tom Grape, founder, chairman and CEO of Benchmark. “Workplace honors like Great Place to Work and FORTUNE would not be possible without each and every one of our associates; they’re what make Benchmark such a special place to work and live. It’s their dedication to Being the Benchmark in senior living that has set us apart for more than 25 years.”
More than 4,400 Benchmark employees completed the Great Place to Work survey, the results of which determined recertification and a spot on FORTUNE’s list of large senior housing and care providers with more than 1,000 employees.
Great Place to Work is the only company culture award in America that selects winners based on how fairly employees are treated. Companies are assessed on how well they are creating a great employee experience that cuts across race, gender, age, disability status, or any aspect of who employees are or what their role is.
This award is one of many accolades Benchmark has received this year and since its inception. Earlier this year, its communities received 53 U.S. News & World Report Best Continuing Care, Best Independent Living, Best Assisted Living and Best Memory Care awards. Since 1997, the company has won over 300 local, regional and national awards for its care, programs and as a top workplace. Among them is the Boston Globe’s Top Places to Work employee-based survey for 15 straight years.
