Benchmark Senior Living at Haverhill Crossings, an assisted living and Mind & Memory Care community, today announced the return of their Blooms and Brushstrokes flower and art show on Saturday, May 6 from 1:00PM to 4:00PM. In addition, the community will also be hosting a bake sale. All proceeds from the event will go to the Alzheimer’s Association of Massachusetts and New Hampshire chapter for Alzheimer’s care, support and research.

Last year, the community raised $2,500 for the Alzheimer’s Association and is hoping to exceed that number this year. “Every day, we see the effect that Alzheimer’s has on entire families,” said Nick Barash, executive director of Benchmark Senior Living at Haverhill Crossings. “This year, once again, we are pleased to join our Benchmark sister communities in doing our part to help end Alzheimer’s disease.”

On May 6, attendees can enter to win raffles for stunning floral arrangements donated by local florists, including The Green Griffin, Flowers by Steve, Welcome to Floristry, Greenery Designs and Sutton Pond Flowers.

Artwork created by local artists, Pentucket High School students and Haverhill Crossings residents will be on display. Local sculptor, Dale Rogers, best known for his large “American Dog” on display near Ward Hill on I-495, has donated a cardinal sculpture for the event. Michele Martin of The Studio of Newburyport has also donated several pieces.

Bill Hallett is one of many Haverhill Crossings residents whose drawings and other art will be part of the show. Hallett and his wife, Charlotte, gained international acclaim for their fine collector plates and other textiles featuring religious, nature and other themes produced together with the likes of Steuben Glass and Hutschenreuther.

Blooms and Brushstrokes will take place at Benchmark Senior Living at Haverhill Crossings, which is located at 254 Amesbury Road (Route 110) in Haverhill. For more information, call (978) 556-1600.
