Mother Nature Can’t Stop the Party
Chef Brings Sunshine to Aunt Veronica’s 101st birthday celebration
When bad weather struck, Jackie Kenney couldn’t take her dear Aunt Veronica out for her favorite lunch on her 101st birthday. So, David Silva, Dining Services Director at Capitol Ridge at Providence, stepped up and created a special birthday celebration that shows how we are truly Called to Care.
Jackie was delighted and sent us a nice note:
Greetings,
I moved my aunt, Veronica Farrell, to Capitol Ridge on Dec. 19. She is very happy there.
I want to commend David Silva for taking the time to help me with last-minute birthday plans for my aunt.
My aunt was celebrating her 101st birthday. My son and I were going to take her out for lunch, but due to bad weather conditions, plans had to change.
I went to speak to David that night about bringing a cake and ice cream for the next day and having lunch there.
He said, “I can supply a cake and ice cream!” He also asked me what my aunt’s favorite birthday lunch was. I said we were taking her out for a lobster salad roll and fries. He said, “I can do that for her.” David also had balloons and a card from Capitol Ridge. He saved the day for me.
He went above and beyond and I appreciated it and wanted to let you know.
With regards,
Jackie Kenny
Thank you, David Silva, and all our associates who go above and beyond for our residents and their families.
