Recap of Our Sizzling Summer Menu: Nutritious Meets Delicious
You may not automatically think of senior living dining being synonymous with award-winning, chef-prepared cuisine. But at Benchmark, that’s exactly what we’re serving. And during the months between Memorial Day and Labor Day and beyond, our artfully-crafted menus take dining to a whole new level of delicious — and nutritious.
Recap on Our Colorful Summertime Menu
If you take a peek into one of our Senior Living dining rooms this season, you’ll see seasoned chefs, colorful plates, and very satisfied diners. Here are summertime favorites from some of our senior living dining menus:
Enjoy tender ribs and mussels braised in a medley of tomato, roasted corn and white bean broth, completed with tropical rice salad, slaw, and cornbread.
Dig into a tender chimichurri flank steak served with pasta salad and a grilled gem lettuce caesar salad. And don’t forget the grilled portobello on a warm and fluffy pretzel roll.
Try some sweet summer flavors with a peach BBQ chicken leg, couscous salad with fruit and herbs, plus some grilled yellow watermelon with balsamic pearls.
Award-Winning Dining Program
Our chefs are frequently honored with awards for their creations, and it’s no surprise. We are recognized regularly for having creative, delicious dishes and outstanding dining programs—frequently winning assisted living association chef challenges, excellence awards for dining services and judges’ best taste awards.
“If you want to eat fresh, local and cooked from scratch, you should join us as a resident and enjoy a great meal any night of the week,” said Guy Hemond, Vice President of Culinary and Dining Experience for Benchmark Senior Living. “Every day of the week our chefs create amazing dishes for our residents who tell us it’s just like a fine restaurant.”
Award winner Chef Tom Sharkis says, “Most people don’t think of assisted living communities as being a thriving culinary scene, but our dining experiences rival top restaurants.”
Balanced Nutrition
Skilled and compassionate caregiving makes everything possible, and our dedicated associates take nutrition to heart. According to the National Council on Aging (NCOA), it’s important for seniors to eat a variety of foods to ensure they are getting all the nutrients they need. “Your plate should look like a rainbow,” the NCOA recommends.
That’s why at Benchmark, our menus are shining with beautiful cuisines of every hue, which is especially true of our colorful and delicious summer menu. We also offer residents special diets, including diabetic and low salt, based on their individual needs.
If you think these summer menu items are delicious, just wait until you see what cozy meals we have in store for fall like luscious stews, warm pies and savory roasts!
