The leading association for long-term and post-acute care, the American Health Care Association and the National Center for Assisted Living (AHCA/NCAL), has honored Bedford Falls, a Benchmark assisted living and Mind & Memory Care community, with one of its highest awards. The community has been awarded a 2022 Bronze – Commitment to Quality Award following a rigorous process by industry experts against a set of nationally recognized standards for organizational excellence.

Bedford Falls was one of only four assisted living communities in the entire New England region to receive this year’s award.

“Since we opened in 2012, our entire team has strived for excellence and been committed to Being the Benchmark for quality care in the Manchester area,” said Ashley Tino, executive director of Bedford Falls, who has been with the community since its inception. “Our associates always seek new ways to exceed expectations and show us every day what’s possible. Because of them, we are proud to offer some of the area’s best assisted living and Mind & Memory Care.”

To qualify for the AHCA/NCAL National Quality Award Program, assisted living, long-term care and short-term care providers must develop an organizational profile with essential performance elements. The community’s vision, mission statement, key strengths and challenges and their ability to implement a sustainable performance improvement system must be demonstrated.

“Quality care is always top of mind for providers, and this achievement celebrates the commitment and fortitude of Bedford Falls to find ways to enhance the lives of its patients and residents,” said the AHCA/NCAL National Quality Award Board of Overseers Chair Tammy Kelly. “I hope Bedford Falls serves as a model for other centers to begin a formal process to continually reflect on and improve its delivery of quality care to staff, seniors, and individuals with disabilities.”

Bedford Falls offers both traditional senior assisted living and specialized assisted living with memory care for those who would benefit from a safer, engaging environment, chef-prepared meals, supportive living services, transportation and assistance with daily activities, such as getting dressed and medication management. Residents enjoy connecting over programs and amenities offered in many common spaces, including a bistro and pub, fitness center, demonstration kitchen, hair salon and spa, library, private dining room and outdoor courtyards with walking paths.

Their award-winning Mind & Memory Care program offers carefully created living environments and unique opportunities for those with Alzheimer’s and dementia to find joy in each new day. Residents are supported by 24/7 care providers who have been hired for heart and educated in memory loss, communication and empathy. Neighborhoods provide the comforts of home and have unique features that help those with memory impairment stay connected to who and what matters most to them. Thoughtful touches, visual cues and purposeful amenities further promote familiarity and wellness.

Throughout its 10-year history, Bedford Falls has been the recipient of many local, regional and national awards. Just recently, the community was named a U.S. News & World Report Best Assisted Living and Best Memory Care community in their inaugural 2022-2023 Excellence Awards.
