Charlie and Gail Celebrate Their Marriage at The Village at Kensington Place
Six Decades After the Band Played a Tango
In 1958, Texas Instruments introduced the microchip, the foundation of modern computing, and the U.S. government created NASA. It’s also the year that Charlie and Gail tied the knot at St. Paul’s church in Kensington, Conn.
Sixty years later, they renewed their vows and celebrated their marriage with longtime friends, associates and family, including their three daughters. After the renewing of vows, the guests enjoyed brunch, home videos and a social.
A lot has changed in six decades, but the love between Charlie and Gail remains steadfast. Charlie and Gail are both residents at The Village at Kensington Place, a Benchmark Senior Living (www.benchmarkseniorliving.com) community. “They’re clearly head over heels for each other after all these years.” says Liz Parra, the community’s communication coordinator.
Nearly every day, Gail visits Charlie, a memory care resident. She views the staff as family.
“We’re grateful for the family for giving us the privilege of hosting this special event,” says Executive Director William Allyn.
