Benchmark (www.benchmarkseniorliving.com), a human connection company and leading provider of senior living services in the Northeast, today announced that Crescent Point at Niantic, an assisted living and memory care community in Niantic, Conn., has received the Benchmark Peter M. Small Community Excellence Award for 2018.

At Benchmark’s 17th Annual Awards Gala held on March 28, 2019, the community was recognized out of all 58 Benchmark communities across the Northeast for demonstrating the highest overall performance and satisfaction. Crescent Point was honored for routinely exemplifying Benchmark’s mission, vision and core values, high associate and family feedback scores and for modeling successful financial management. The award is named for Benchmark’s long-time friend and member of its board of advisors, Peter M. Small of Concord, Mass.

Former Crescent Point senior executive director, Shaun Mastroianni, together with new executive director, Jessica Colangelo, accepted the award on behalf of the community. “I’m proud to have spent almost five years directing Crescent Point, and I feel very good about what we’ve created, which is a community that deeply respects and values its associates and is firmly focused on keeping its residents connected to what matters most,” says Mastroianni.

Crescent Point provides some of the area’s best senior care centered on the values of human connection. Associates develop deep and meaningful relationships with each resident and family member to help connect them to what matters most at every stage of their lives and provide experiences that help them thrive. The community’s Mind & Memory approach provides a holistic methodology for caring for those with memory issues, engaging in physical, social, intellectual, emotional, purposeful and spiritual wellness through research-based programming, individualized and group activities, 24/7 personal care assistance and more.

“I am so grateful for the work that Shaun and the rest of the Crescent Point team does every single day to elevate human connection,” says Tom Grape, founder, chairman and CEO of Benchmark. “Our annual awards gala is the highlight of my year because it’s an opportunity for all of us to come together to celebrate our communities and associates who sincerely live our company mission, vision and values. This year’s award winners are truly exemplary, and I could not be prouder of all we have accomplished together.”
