For almost 30 years, Benchmark has been caring for individuals living with dementia and other forms of memory loss. Our Mind & Memory Care neighborhoods are thoughtfully designed using proven practices and the latest research to support comfort, connection, independence, and quality of life.
Along with 24/7 personalized care, residents also have access to third-party on-site providers* and amenities that support overall well-being.
Special Living Environments
Each aspect of our neighborhoods for those with memory impairment has been thoughtfully planned and designed to be dementia-friendly.
- Specialized lighting to reduce the effects of sundowning or late-day confusion
- Aromatherapy aimed at relieving symptoms and improving mental processing
- Treasure chests, journey stations and engagement boxes provide opportunities for residents to reminisce
- Secure outdoor courtyards for gardening, birdwatching, taking walks and enjoying the outdoors
- Hair salons* for our memory care residents for easy access to helping them look and feel their best
- Many of our communities also offer indoor therapeutic gardening programs

Award-Winning Programs
From effective communication strategies to therapeutic experiences, our acclaimed programs are among the many things that set our mind and memory care apart.
Our nationally award-winning Connect First program works to evoke positive emotions by improving communication between residents and associates and establishing or maintaining strong human connections, a Benchmark cornerstone. Our associates undergo specialized training to discern what their residents are trying to communicate and effective response techniques.
Throughout each day, our residents also enjoy individual or small group therapeutic programs offered in parallel and tailored to their interests. Art, music and pet therapy, fitness programs, mentally stimulating games, family programs and off-site trips are just some of the things residents enjoy daily.
ACCESS TO ON-SITE SERVICES*
In addition to medication management, continence management, and support for residents with mobility needs, we offer access to a variety of on-site healthcare services* for added convenience. Residents are welcome to choose their own providers or use independent third-party providers who regularly visit the community. Services may include physician visits, rehabilitation, skilled nursing, hospice, and more.
These services are not included in your monthly fee and involve additional costs. On-site healthcare services are provided by independent third-party providers.
CONCIERGE AMENITIES
At each Benchmark community, our residents receive weekly housekeeping and laundry and linen service. As one would expect, all maintenance is also included.
